June “Mangia e Passia” (Eat and Walk)
It is a festival dedicated to street food: numerous stalls offer the chance to taste typical local products and Sicilian street food from bread with panelle and crocché (chickpea fritters and potato croquettes) to sandwiches with bread “ca meusa” (spleen); arancine (fried rice balls); bread and sausage.
19-20 July Madonna delle Grazie
During the festivities, religious celebrations are enlivened by a fair dedicated to the city's patron saint, St Francis of Paola (who falls on 2 April)
July-August Nights of the Owl
This is the Joppolese summer, full of religious events, popular festivals, entertainment shows and concerts. From 5 to 7 August, a three-day event dedicated to the yellow melon, the territory's excellence. Between one dish and another, all based on melon, the town also becomes a showcase for local handicraft products
